Eligibility Criteria

[PLEASE NOTE: STUDY ENROLLMENT IS NOW CLOSED.]

Study participation will involve a one time visit for up to one hour. The visit will be done at the UMASS campus in Amherst. You will be asked some questions about your background and health, and complete a short task that involves monitoring eye movements using special glasses.

Participants will be compensated up to $100 for their time

Breast cancer survivorS

To be eligible you must..

  • Be a woman between the ages of 50and 70 yrs old

  • Have completed a chemotherapy regimen for stages 1-111 breast cancer at least 6 months ago but not more than 6 years ago

You will not be eligible if you..

  • Have received chemotherapy within the last 6 months

  • Smoke one or more cigarettes per day

  • Consume more than 2 alcoholic beverages per day

  • Are currently receiving hospice care

There will also be additional health related questions that will be asked by a researcher as part of the regulatory screening procedure.

 

non breast cancer PARTICIPANTS

To be eligible you must.. 

  • Be a woman between the ages of 50 and 70 yrs old

  • Have NEVER received a diagnosis of breast cancer

You will not be eligible if you..

  • Have received chemotherapy within the last 6 months

  • Smoke one or more cigarettes per day

  • Consume more than 2 alcoholic beverages per day

  • Are currently receiving hospice care

There will also be other health related questions that will be asked by a researcher as part of the regulatory screening procedure.
